Our story

Long-staple cotton, woven to stay soft

Egyptian cotton is prized for its long, fine staple — the fibre that makes a towel soft yet strong, and noticeably absorbent. The cotton for Delta Loom is grown in the Nile delta, spun and woven there, then looped into a dense, plush pile that holds up wash after wash. The result is a hand towel that feels thick and quiet, dries quickly, and keeps its softness for years.

Good to know

How do I care for them?

Machine-wash warm with like colours, and tumble-dry on a low setting or line-dry. Avoid fabric softener, which coats the cotton fibres and reduces absorbency.

Are they lint-free?

Not entirely — any cotton towel sheds a little at first. After the first couple of washes the shedding settles and they become their fluffiest and most absorbent.

Are they woven in Egypt?

Yes. The cotton is grown in the Nile delta, then spun and woven there. We work directly with the mills that make them.

How absorbent are they?

The dense, plush pile soaks up water quickly and dries fast. Most people notice the difference on the first use.

Will they stay soft after washing?

Yes. They are pre-washed at the mill, and the long staple means the softness holds up wash after wash without becoming rough or shedding much lint.

What makes Egyptian cotton special?

Egyptian cotton has a longer, finer staple than most cottons. That longer fibre is what lets a towel be soft and strong at the same time, and noticeably more absorbent.
